My favourite fashion brand
Maison Margiela, is unique with the way he curates the pieces in correlation to seasons is seamless and intricate.
What appeals mostly to most his audience is the curation of abstract textiles layered onto different silhouettes, creating a unique style and memorable difference to other brands. The brand specialises in alternative fashion chic. The monochromatic looks in the ‘23 runway, re-birthed the trends of dull colours from the 90’s runways. Focusing mainly on the garments and the ways they have been pieced together, although there is a big mixture of styles it all seamlessly fits under one style, making every garment appealing to Margelia’s audience. In late 2021 a trend rocketed around social media, Margelia’s name was in every article and conversation. The steam of conversations were the Tabi split toe shoes, the unique body of the shoe, created a big shift from trainers to a more sturn leather shoe, in which we now see everywhere, from loafers to ballet flats a flat shoe is all anyone is talking about. We cant help but wonder who inspired this… We see many of Margelia’s garmets around New York, the rustic chic style of many of Maisons garments are at the heart of the city and fashion enthusiasts minds. With the Fall 2023 collection, we saw the foundations of the collection were focusing less on a character on the runway and more about the garments, in true MM6 style the textiles were everyday wearable items with a non linear style.
