My Favourite Brand.
Off-White.
Off-White is an Italian luxury brand which was founded in Milan by American designer Virgil Abloh in 2012. The late Virgil Abloh solidified himself as a pillar mark and legend in the fashion industry by making a significant impact on both luxury fashion and sneaker culture. Abloh made Off-White its own revolutionary brand by cornering a subsect of the luxury market for street wear style. Virgil Abloh stepped out of the usual cycle of fashion by adding plastic tags to designs, this created a unique and easily recognizable tentpole for the brand to allow it to compete with timeless brands such as Prada and Chanel.
Off-White clothing makes a statement as it expresses a unique sense of design while producing high quality and comfortable clothing. Off-White clothing can easily be recognized by its simplistic yet statement tees and hoodies. These feature a plain forefront contrasted by the beautiful designs built around a large Off-White logo on the back.
Off-white also made it is self a cornerstone in sneaker culture by its own wide range of luxury sneakers such as the “out of office” sneakers which have become the type of shoe you see on every corner, despite the £475 price tag. However, what made off-white so significant in sneaker culture today is the unique, collectable, and rare collections of sneaker collaborations with brands such as Nike. Many of these shoes are desired by “sneaker heads” globally and see resale prices soar. For example, if you are considering purchasing the “Off White X Jordan: Air Jordan 1 High Chicago” prices can range up to £12,739.
Notably, Virgil Abloh has created a beautiful, revolutionary, and inspiring legacy through Off-White. Following the unfortunate passing of Virgil Abloh, Off White recently named IB Kamara as the image and art director. Kamara is now guiding the vision and mission of the brand in a way which is true to those of Abloh himself.
