Schiaparelli shines out as one of my best loved fashion brands due to its atypical designs. The brand implements a touch of modern couture along with being eccentric, which is evident in the surrealist attire. For example, ‘Schiaparelli’s felt and velvet shoe hat of A/W 1937–8 was designed to sit upon the head like an upturned shoe… Schiaparelli’s love of placing ‘found objects’ on the head, even extended to a hat in the shape of a lamb chop.’ these peculiar elements tempt the viewer to look again, drawing in more attention to the intricate and magnetic designs.
